LVR Shady Lady is a 2002 bay noncharacteristic Appaloosa mare. She is a beautiful mare with a strongly muscled but balanced build, super steady mind, and very nice movement. She arrived at our farm late at night and unloaded like a pro, then the next morning was dropping her head for our young children to pet her and was acting like she'd been born and raised in that pasture! Shady is a fantastic example of just how good well-informed, selective inbreeding can be - both sire and dam are sired by Pratt Toby Secret (pedigree). Shady is the product of two leopard parents, so we have hopes that she is hiding a leopard pattern gene under that solid coat and Sunny will help her to show that off in some very spotted foals! Shady will be trained for riding, and we'll see where her talents go from there. She is going to be here with us at Spotted Meadows Farm on an open ended lease from Penny and Bill Kowalski of Lake View Ranch Appaloosas in South Dakota, and we plan on making them proud of what their mare can do.
