BREEDING CONTRACT
Between Megan and Adam Ritterpusch (the "Breeder") of Spotted Meadows Farm, 123 30th Street, Clear Lake, WI 54005 and _________ (the "Owner") of __________________________, concerning the stallion NorthStar Bright Sun (the "Stallion").

WHEREBY IT IS AGREED AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Seller will sell and the Buyer will buy a breeding to NorthStar Bright Sun detailed below at the price of $550, with the following discounts, for a total of $_____. A $100 nonrefundable booking fee is due at the time the contract is signed. All other fees and the remaining amount of stallion fee are due according to (3) below.

$50 multiple mare discount (within same calendar year)
Copies of registration papers must accompany the signed contract to receive the discount.

3. FEES.
A. For Onsite Breedings. The remaining stallion fee is due when the mare is picked up from the Seller's farm after exposure to the Stallion, or when the Mare is in pronounced to be in foal if she is left in the care of Spotted Meadows Farm until she settles or foals. All other expenses, including board, shall be payable on the first of every month with remaining balances paid in full at the time of the Mare's leaving Spotted Meadows Farm.
B. For Cooled Shipped Semen. The entire stallion fee plus $300 in shipment fees is due and payable at least 10 days prior to shipment of semen. The same discounts available in (1) are applicable here, as well. We will use UPS for all shipments, if at all possible. FedEx is available upon request.
4. MARE CARE FOR ONSITE BREEDINGS. The Breeder agrees to care for the Mare at the cost of $3 per day after the first 7 days. Care includes adequate hay/pasture, grain if requested, free access to trace mineral salt block, and abundant fresh water. Shelter/windbreak is provided in large turn-out/pasture; no stalls are available. Fly spray, fly masks, and fly sheets must be provided by the Owner. If dewormer, vaccinations, or farrier service is required during the Mare's stay at Spotted Meadows Farm, the Owner will be consulted by the Breeder, and the Owner will also pay for any services rendered. If the Mare is accompanied by a foal, no extra care costs are incurred while the foal is yet un-weaned. Spotted Meadows Farm and the Breeders are not responsible for injuries incurred during the breeding process.
5. MARE REQUIREMENTS FOR ONSITE BREEDINGS. The Mare must have proof of the following accompany the signed contract prior to breeding onsite: negative Coggins, a negative uterine culture if the mare has not had a foal in the last 6 months or has a history of uterine infection, and rabies, tetanus, and West Nile Virus vaccinations (EEE and WEE recommended). Rear shoes, if worn, must be removed prior to breeding.
6. LIVE COLORED FOAL GUARANTEE. A live, colored foal is guaranteed for the first 96 hours after the Mare's delivery. If the foal is stillborn, dies within the first 96 hours due to natural causes, or does not have Appaloosa characteristics by one year of age, the Mare may be re-bred to the Stallion with no additional stallion fee any time in the following 12 months, although mare care fees will accrue. For shipped semen, the shipping charges and collection fees will be paid by the Owner, but no other stallion fee will be applied. This guarantee is voided if the Owner does not provide written confirmation to the Breeder of a positive pregnancy check peformed by a veterinarian on the Mare within 45 days of breeding. In the event of a stillbirth or early death, written confirmation of the foal's death is required by a veterinarian, as well as a negative uterine culture, before re-breeding. If in the case of a non-characteristic foal, the Breeder may request a DNA test to determine parentage. If the sire is proven to be NorthStar Bright Sun, the Breeder will pay for the DNA test and will offer a free re-breeding. If the sire is proven not to be NorthStar Bright Sun, the Owner will pay for the DNA test, and the Breeder is not held responsible.
7. The Breeder guarantees that the Stallion is a heterozygous black, homozygous agouti/bay (E/e, A/A) few spot leopard. A copy of the color DNA report as done by Pet DNA Services of Arizona is available upon request.
8. The Breeder offers a registration rebate for foals by NorthStar Bright Sun. Register the foal with International Purebred Appaloosa Association, Appaloosa Horse Club, or Sundance 500 International before the foal is 6 months of age, mail a photocopy of the registration certificate to Spotted Meadows Farm, and Spotted Meadows Farm will reimburse ½ of the registration fee.
