Our computer crashed, so that's why no updates in a while! We have a new computer, new photos, and soon some new foals, though, so check out the website!
Here at Spotted Meadows Farm we do not limit ourselves to one or two bloodlines, a particular color, or a particular pattern. We strive for excellent minds, fabulous conformation, superior movement, and a pleasing combination of strength and refinement. We also seek out the old bloodlines, believing that the do-it-all horses of yesteryear are worth preserving.
That said, we do have a little extra somethin' somethin' for you!
We are standing what we believe to be the only Foundation bred leopard/fewspot dun stallion in North America! Sunny is a bay dun fewspot leopard who is the fourth generation of only Appaloosas (that's him, his parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents before there's an outcross!), so if you want spots, smarts, and great balance and you want dun too (NOT cream gene being called dun, he really has dun and we can prove it!), then talk to us!
Want the mystery and romance of the story of the Ghostwind Stallions? We also have the closest living direct male descendant of the great producer Siri Sheik! Howl is a great-grandson in a direct male line, and we also have his son Rocky to carry on the tradition. If you want Ghostwind bred, you aren't getting any closer to the source than Howl (his breeder literally wrote the book on the subject, and that's Howl's sire on the cover!). Want jaw dropping elevation, suspension, and reach on top of all that? Talk to us about adding a Howl baby to your pasture!
Our mares of course are just as fabulous, too, bringing history, mystique, power, grace, beauty, and talent to the herd.
Go to their pages and see for yourself!
We are very excited about International Purebred Appaloosa Association. IPAA registers scientifically accepted purebred Appaloosas, and Sunny is able to sire purebred Appaloosas, in addition to Foundation Appaloosas and Appaloosa Partbreds (a registry option for all you non-Appaloosa mare owners!). Megan is the Executive Secretary for IPAA, so be sure to ask us about this exciting registry!
